Don’t deny it. You know when you go to the airport and you’re the friend on the trip with lounge access, you feel pretty cool. It’s hard not to. Free drinks, snacks, and way comfier seats than those sad excuses for chairs at the terminals.

Airports around the world have made a big push to revamp their lounges and it’s a trend we love to see. Here are the two most recent lounge upgrades to check out on your next trip:

Amex’s expanded Centurion lounge in Seattle

Amex Centurion offers some of the best airport lounges. Plenty of us were bummed when the company introduced new guest fees, but they are making up for it in Seattle with their expanded lounge.

The new outpost at the Seattle-Tacoma airport has been expanded and is now three times the size. More space is a welcome change given how many lounges have experienced overcrowding this year. The lounge’s new menu showcases the best of Seattle’s dining and coffee scene. The new space even features a mural of the Seattle skyline made entirely of coffee beans. You’ll also find more private phone rooms and bathrooms. See for yourself here

Capital One is adding more airport lounges and hotel perks

Capital One is also getting in on the lounge action. After much praise from travelers on the launch of their inaugural lounge at the Dallas-Forth Worth airport, they’ve revealed plans to open more at the Denver and the Washington Dulles airports.

If you’re new to the world of travel points, the Capital One card is a great choice for a beginner. With the card, you’ll get two lounge visits per year but the best perk, by far, is the 75,000-point intro bonus that you can use to book flights or transfer to other airlines. For example, those points could get you up to 10 domestic one-way flights on United or a round-trip flight to Europe on Air France, British Airways, or Virgin Atlantic.

It doesn’t stop there. Capital One is also sweetening the pot for cardholders with their Premier Collection, which gives cardholders exclusive hotel perks when they book through Capital One, like

  • A $100 experience credit for on-property food, beverages, spas, or other experiences
  • Daily breakfast for two
  • Room upgrades, when available
  • Early check-in and late check-out when available
  • 10x miles earned per dollar on booking

Take our advice and upgrade your life with lounge access and travel points.
