Work remotely from Bali to Bangkok.

It’s been a good few months for budget-minded and beach loving remote workers looking to try their hand at #DigitalNomadLife, as popular Southeast Asian hot spots continue rolling out their own ‘digital nomad visas‘ to attract remote workers from abroad.

Though a slew of European, South American, and Central American countries have been quick to offer up visas to remote workers, Asia has been a bit slower to hop on the bandwagon.

Currently, only Malaysia and Thailand offer true digital nomad visas in the region, but the tides are quickly changing on those dreamy tropical beaches.

Last month, officials in Indonesia — home to Bali, where many have gone to live their digital nomad dreams — announced that it will soon launch a visa for remote workers. Though little information has been provided about salary requirements and documentation needed, there’s little doubt that it will quickly become the world’s most popular remote worker visa.

In other parts, Cambodia offers up a retirement visa and the Philippines has a long-stay visitor visa, but it’s not completely geared towards remote workers.

If you’re not ready to venture all the way to Asia, European destinations like Portgual and Spain have also begun courting remote workers from overseas.
