Even though 2023 has just begun, it’s a good time to start planning out your trips for the rest of the year. Vrbo has done all the leg work and unveiled when you should book your next vacation rental based on 8 key peak travel seasons.
When to book
Book your spring break trip by January 30.
Book a Memorial Day weekend trip by April 6.
Book your summer trip by April 17.
Book your 4th of July trip by May 10.
See the remaining four booking windows here.
Mark your calendars with those dates because Melanie Fish, head of Expedia brands’ public relations shared, “All of these dates are two weeks earlier than they were in years past. Those two weeks can make or break snagging a coveted mountain cabin for a spring break ski trip or a beachside cottage for that annual summer vacation.”
More tips
In addition to giving us insight into these peak travel season booking windows, Vrbo also suggested:
Trying an alternative, less populated destination like Tybee Island, Georgia, or Miramar, Florida. These are less likely to fill up or be as costly but are just as entrancing.
Plan friend trips more efficiently with Trip Boards. Vrbo’s tool lets everyone in one group save all their favorite properties in one place. Check out Vrbo’s own curated Trip Boards like Unique Stays, Cowboy-cations, and Summer in Europe.
Book in advance but go for places with flexible cancellation policies in case your plans change.
