If you have zero plans this weekend but would love to be outdoors, and one with nature, I’ve got a plan for you! To celebrate the first day of National Park Week, all National Park Service sites will be free for entry on Saturday, April 22 (also Earth Day).
The US National Parks free entry applies only to parks that normally charge an entrance fee, and parks that are already free will remain that way. You can check out the complete list of parks here. Additional costs like camping, transportation, and tours are not included in the free offer.
Some of the parks you can visit include popular destinations like Yosemite and Joshua Tree, which usually charges $20-35 by car or foot to enter. With over 400 sites to choose from, it’s best to plan ahead for travel and consider using the latest Google Maps update to help navigate your way through parks.
If you can’t make it this Saturday, don’t worry! There are other opportunities throughout the year to enter National Parks at no cost. Check out the dates here, with the next one scheduled for August 4, 2023.
