Six out of 10 Americans drink coffee. The other four are cranky buggers and spend their time angry at the other six.

Originating from Ethiopia centuries ago—supposedly when a farmer noticed his goats were hyper after munching on a suspicious-looking shrub—the caffeinated beverage spread like wildfire and has become an integral part of millions of people’s day.

In true 21st-century style, a wave of coffee aficionados (some might say hipsters) have elevated the drink and transformed it into a hobby as much as a daily ritual. To satiate the most passionate among us, we’ve tracked down some of the best stays for coffee lovers.

Grab your favorite cup. Let’s get down to it.

Budget

Gillum House Bed & Breakfast

Location: Shinnston, West Virginia
Price: $130+
Vibe: Freshly roasted and wholesome
The rundown: “West Virginia?!” I hear you say. I understand the trepidation, but before we head to more tropical climes, we’ll start with an excellent budget option focusing on high-quality products and a taste for the best coffee.

Naturally, there’s no coffee grown in West Virginia, but Gillum House has become a small haven for coffee lovers. Boasting a selection of roasts from around the globe, guests can choose their coffee’s origin and enjoy it freshly roasted onsite before enjoying it with their breakfast. There are as many as 21 different types of beans in-house at any one time. You’ll need the energy for the nearby hiking trails anyway.

ROOST Midtown

Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Price: $175+
Vibe: Luxury extended stay
The rundown: Extended stay hotels tend to get a bad reputation. Not at ROOST. The Philadelphia apartments are as close to feeling at home as you’ll find in any hotel. Expertly designed from top to bottom and priced incredibly, you’re in for a treat, especially if you need to spend a little longer in Philly.

For coffee lovers, ROOST has collaborated with local coffee roasters La Colombe to curate a coffee experience for all its guests. Each room comes equipped with $750 of coffee-making equipment, including Chemex, Bonavita coffee makers, and grinders. There’s even a coffee concierge to help you out.

Munduk Moding Plantation

Location: Bali, Indonesia
Price: $170+
Vibe: Coffee heaven on Earth
The rundown: It’s not too often you find a five-star hotel for less than $200. But it is Bali, and miracles happen there. Munduk Moding Plantation is mesmerizing. Perched on an outlook over the island and surrounded by greenery, guests can truly escape and sample some of the best local food and coffee.

On-site, you’ll find a coffee roastery, guides offering tours of the surrounding area, tastings, and other activities. It’s about as close to heaven on Earth as you’ll find anywhere. And at that price point, you’re never going to be disappointed.

Boutique

Finca Rosa Blanca

Location: Santa Barbara, Costa Rica
Price: $250+
Vibe: Hot cup of Pura Vida
The rundown: Stepping beyond the boundaries of the US and into the lush wonderland of Costa Rica, we have Finca Rosa Blanca. The stunning hotel is located on a coffee plantation of the same name, placing guests in the heart of the booming Costa Rican industry.

Coffee is at the heart of everything here. The views from each room look out onto the plantation and San Jose beyond; coffee tours and tastings are available; and each room has a bag of coffee straight from the source ready for brewing.

Hacienda Venecia Coffee Farm Hotel

Location: Manizales, Colombia
Price: $210+
Vibe: Coffee break from civilization
The rundown: Another coffee heavyweight, Colombia’s tourism industry has blossomed in the past few years. But while most of the development has centered on its town and cities, Hacienda Venecia pulls guests far from the hustle and bustle and introduces a slower pace of life.

It’s been an operating farm for over a century, making it the perfect place for coffee lovers to geek out over the intricacies of the bean-growing process. Tours, nature walks, and hands-on tastings are all available. The rest of the time is yours to soak in the Colombian countryside.

Fairmont Orchid

Location: Waikoloa, Hawaii
Price: $700+
Vibe: Hawaiian luxury blend
The rundown: You might love coffee. But you’re not a true coffee fan until you’ve had it scrubbed all over your body. Thankfully, the Fairmont Orchid in Hawaii has you covered.

As can be expected in Hawaii, the resort is framed by picture-perfect beaches and lush rainforests, while the facilities are world-class with services to match. To satiate the coffee lover, the hotel has specialty brews on-site and a unique take on spa services in the form of a Kona Coffee Scrub. The 50-minute session will leave you and your skin feeling rejuvenated—kinda like that first cup in the morning.
