A better airport experience
Capital One is set to elevate the airport experience with the opening of its brand-new flagship lounge in New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport. Located in Terminal 4, the lounge officially opens on June 19, starting with limited hours, but will expand to 24/7 service beginning July 17.
Designed to reflect the vibrancy and sophistication of New York City, the JFK location is the latest, and apparently most ambitious, addition to Capital One’s continuously growing network of airport lounges. With lounge locations in Dallas, Denver, Las Vegas, Dulles, and the Capital One Landing at Washington National Airport, New York is the 6th city.
It is said that this lounge will bring the character of New York to life through thoughtfully curated design and amenities from a Central Park-inspired dining space and a Manhattan-style cocktail bar to a rotating selection of local art on display. Large panoramic windows provide stunning views of the tarmac, creating a sense of openness, while a custom glass sculpture serves as a visual centerpiece that reflects the spirit and energy of the city.
Guests can also enjoy a variety of high-quality, locally inspired options:
Hand-rolled bagels, espresso from Bean & Bean, and La Colombe cold brew served at a bodega-style counter
A rotating menu of grab-and-go wraps, fresh salads, pastries, and small plates like pork shank and panzanella
Artisanal cheese and charcuterie boards by Murray’s Cheese
A selection of NYC-themed craft cocktails, local beers, and Capital One’s signature “Perfect Airport Beer”
Mobile refreshment carts offering iced coffee, tea, and late-night snacks
That sounds pretty amazing to us.
Positioned to become a very popular lounge within JFK, the new Capital One Lounge merges thoughtful design, premium service, and local flair. Venture X cardholders and Venture X Business primary cardholders enjoy unlimited complimentary access for themselves and two guests per visit. Learn more about all of the access requirements here.

Pros & Cons
Pros
Its solid intro bonus of 75,000 miles is worth well over $1,000 when transferred to partner airlines and hotels, or a flat rate $750 when redeemed on the Capital One Travel Portal.
Cardholders get a bonus of 10,000 miles each year after their first account anniversary, which is nothing to shrug off, especially when a little bit short of that business class flight. It’s worth almost $200 depending on how you use it.
The $300 annual credit for purchases made on the Capital One Travel Portal, combined with the yearly free miles, more than annul the $395 annual fee.
Four authorized users can be added for free.
Enjoy access to 1,300+ lounges worldwide, including Capital One Lounge locations and Priority Pass™ lounges, after enrollment
A generous offering of travel insurance, protections and reimbursements round out an excellent array of benefits.
Cons
The $300 credit is a bit less flexible than the Chase Sapphire Reserve’s comparable benefit.
Miles earning is the same as the Sapphire Reserve on portal-based purchases, but less on general travel spending.
Capital One transfer partners are solid, but still don’t include any US-based airlines or hotels.
