A new study by Bounce reveals the best countries to visit if you’re a solo female traveler.
While most studies on solo female travel focus solely on factors like violence against women, the Bounce study took into account factors that make a country more welcoming overall. For instance, they also scored countries based on factors like the gender pay gap.
The report analyzed 30 countries and considered eight key factors, including how safe women feel walking alone at night, female homicide rates, and laws on domestic violence.
Taking first place on the list is Ireland. The Emerald Isle ranked among the top for all eight factors evaluated in the report but scored particularly high for having laws in place that protect women from violence, as well as for local attitudes toward violence against women.
Staying in Europe, Austria and Norway rounded out the top three, namely for their high scores on how safe women feel walking home alone at night and low female homicide rates.
