Amex is giving you free points to transfer.
Amex card close up

Amex points are already some of the most transferable out there. With eighteen airlines and three hotel partners, cardholders are spoilt for choice – especially if they’ve recently grabbed one of Amex’s massive intro bonuses.

But for a limited time, Amex can go up to 30% further than normal, thanks to its fall bonus program. Most transfers between Amex and its partners are set at 1:1 with a few exceptions, but the current offer tips the ratio in favor of the customer for twelve partners. Put simply; you’re getting points for nothing. Here are some of the best offers:

  • British Airways -1000 Amex points = 1250 Avios (ends 09/30)

  • Virgin Atlantic – 1000 Amex Points = 1300 Virgin Points (ends 09/30

  • Hawaiian Miles – 1000 Amex Points = 1200 HawaiianMiles (Ends 09/30)

  • Hilton – 1000 Amex points = 2600 Hilton Honors Points (09/30)

Personally, I’m jumping on the British Airways deal. With no direct flights from Glasgow to Munich, I need to fly through London. With the 57,000 points sitting in my Amex account, I’ll grab an extra 14,250 points when transferred into Avios – enough to cover my costs to London. That’s a free flight for no other reason than good timing.
