After the world shutdown during the Covid-19 pandemic, many people decided that upon reopening, they weren’t going to miss out on any other experiences they’ve long pined after. And for those looking to visit their dream destinations in 2023, a new study from Bucket List Travels has revealed travelers’ top 20 bucket list experiences.
The winners
Coming in at first place is “the world’s greatest light show,” otherwise known as the Northern Lights. It’s no surprise that the rare display is topping the list. Some even book specific flights to catch a glimpse from arguably the best view: a plane window.
Taking an American road trip came in 2nd and going on an African Safari came in 3rd.
Natural marvels like the Great Barrier Reef, Niagara Falls, and cruising Norway’s Fjords dominated the top 10. Equally as popular was architectural admiration, with visits to see the Great Wall of China, Machu Picchu, and the Louvre also making it onto the list.
One surprise on the list, to me, was how many people want to ride a bullet train but I suppose it makes sense given that the study only included British travelers. They must sit on the tube all day dreaming of faster transportation.
