Trains travel is back with a vengeance. As more countries try to make travel sustainable, taking the scenic route is becoming the hot new travel trend for 2023.
We can understand why given that some of the new train routes launching are mesmerizing and luxurious. Here are some train routes to consider while you’re on your next Euro trip:
Germany to Croatia
The latest night train has launched in Europe and it connects many top travel destinations throughout Europe. The sleeper train goes from Stuttgart, Germany to Austria, Italy, Hungary, Slovenia, and Croatia. At certain times of the year, the train will go not only to Zagreb, Croatia but extend to Rijeka with a total travel time of 15 hours.
Paris to Barcelona
Though this train has not let launched, the high-speed rail route is already creating a lot of buzz. The route will connect two major European cities: Paris and Barcelona. It will also help link Madrid with Italy. The new route is expected to slash travel times and be ready by the end of 2024.
Switzerland
Switzerland is known for its picturesque and timely trains but its railway is getting a major upgrade. Their new Golden Pass Express train goes from Lake Geneva to central Switzerland in high style, literally. The new train can grow taller and jump tracks and it’s been met with much fanfare. Even Shania Twain was part of the inauguration.
Northern Europe
If you’re off on a Baltic adventure, there is now a train that links the biggest cities between Poland and Lithuania. While there are always been many trains between Polish and Lithuanian cities, there’s never been a direct link so traveling across Northern Europe will now be a whole lot easier and all for only about $32.
