Airbnb has revealed the top trending accommodations and travel destinations for 2022 and 2023, according to their search data. 

2022’s top spots

In 2022, travelers sought out warmer getaways and the top travel categories were pools, beaches, and iconic cities, in that order. Countryside, cabin, and lake house destinations also made it into the top 10.

While Bangkok, Thailand took home the prize as the top trending destination in 2022, Australia and Brazil dominated the list. They each had three cities a piece on the list. 

2023’s travel trends to watch

Airbnb also identified which cities had been added to people’s wish lists the most and found that in 2023, people were keen to go to Málaga, Spain. The coastal town took home the top spot while Australia, Brazil, and New Zealand dominated the rest of the top 10.
