Cuba has increased its tourist visa policy to allow visitors to stay for 90 days instead of 30 days, starting November 1 to encourage more tourists to visit the Caribbean island and extend their stay.
On Sunday, the Minister of Tourism, Juan Carlos García Granda, announced on Twitter that the visa would be “extendable only once for the same period,” meaning tourists can stay in Cuba for a total of 180 days.
Until now, mandatory tourist visas had a maximum period of 30 days, which could be extended for one more month if they were changed at the nearest Immigration and Aliens Office one week before the visa expires, along with rescheduling the return flight and accommodations.
