The Turkish Riviera is no secret to the European masses. It’s long represented a sun-drenched haven of value and draws a unique crowd of adventurous revelers seeking more than the typical beach stays in Greece and Spain.

While the turquoise waters and golden sands are the primary draw, it’s the epic framing of craggy mountains and ancient Lycian cities that separate it from the endless resort towns found throughout the Mediterranean.

But understand: this is a 600-mile stretch of the Turkish coast. Choosing your home base is no easy feat. Whether you opt for the ancient wonders of the region’s major city Antalya or a quieter town or village further down the coast is up to you; but one thing’s for sure—you’ll be coming back.

Patara Viewpoint Hotel

Location: Patara, Turkey
Price: $50+
Vibe: Super value seaside spot
The rundown: A slice of heaven for $50 a night. It doesn’t get much better than that. If you feel like a longer break, Patara’s weekly and fortnightly rates are equally impressive, especially in the off-season. If you’re concerned about what you’ll get for that low a price, you needn’t be. It’s one of the best hotels to base yourself in the Turkish Riviera.

The Patara Viewpoint is one of those rare gems of a hotel that prioritizes high-quality basic amenities and warm, genuine service. The lack of bells and whistles means the price stays low, but you get to spend the rest of the time enjoying the spectacular clifftop views and the nearby ruins of Patara. Just check the reviews—repeat customers have been coming back yearly since 2008.

Tuvana Hotel

Location: Antalya, Turkey
Price: $92+
Vibe: Ottoman old town option
The rundown: For a different take on your Turkish Riviera stay, try out the Tuvana Hotel in the region’s largest city, Antalya. The hotel is a listed Ottoman building from the early 18th century—it hosted imperial visits, so it’s a big deal.

Nowadays, it’s a serene boutique hotel, fully embracing its history while taking some modern nods in its revamped decor. The interior courtyard pool is a definite highlight, and the location puts you in the beating heart of the ancient city. Most importantly, you have direct access to the best variety of food in the region.

Olympos Lodge

Location: Antalya, Turkey
Price: $215+
Vibe: Family-run fun
The rundown: If you’re going to have a name like Olympos, you better live up to the name. Thankfully, this renowned boutique hotel has been one of the most popular properties in Turkey for almost 40 years. Run by the same family for the entirety of its existence, its rural location just outside Antalya and at the foot of some of the region’s most epic mountains make it the perfect place to appreciate everything the area has to offer.

The beach is a stone’s throw away, the onsite spa is a guest favorite, and the secluded feel of the resort itself makes it the ease out of a hectic few weeks of traveling through Turkey. With prices hovering at around $215 for a basic room, it still represents incredible value—especially when compared to similar properties in the US or Europe.

D-Resort Gocek

Location: Gocek, Turkey
Price: $270+
Vibe: Marina-side magnificence
The rundown: The little town of Gocek was once a mere fishing village, but with its secluded harbor and stunning mountain ranges exploding behind it, it was only a matter of time before leisure travelers took over. The marina is now mainly filled with yachts, but the sleepy feel remains.

The D-resort Gocek is a stylish effort. Immaculately designed and giving the impression of dangling over the water, it’s as close to the typical Mediterranean feel you’ll find at this price point. In terms of amenities, it’s loaded with an excellent restaurant, a wonderful spa, and access to Gocek’s only private beach.

Location: Hisaronu, Turkey
Price: $380+
Vibe: Cliffside spectacular
The rundown: Stepping into the realm of true luxury we have D Maris Bay resort. This epic property straddles the cliffside overlooking its eponymous bay, with its stunning pool area the focal point. The resort itself is secluded, making it a destination in its own right, as well as a strong base for exploring the rest of the area.

There are five excellent restaurants on site, shuttle boats to some of the finest beaches nearby, and service is exemplary—gifting it all the ingredients for the perfect relaxing getaway. It’s a popular spot, so it may be worth checking out in the shoulder season and finding yourself with a piece of the Turkish Riviera all to yourself.

Amanruya

Location: Golturkbuku, Turkey
Price: $780+
Vibe: All-out Aman luxury
The rundown: Wherever Aman goes, pure unadulterated luxury follows. The brand’s growing footprint has extended to the Turkish Riviera, embodied in the form of an Ottoman village on the Mediterranean Sea. Serenity is the keyword here, with olive groves and pine forests setting the scene for a truly remarkable stay.

Of course, Aman always comes with a hefty price tag. Rates will start at around the $780 mark, so this is no cheap getaway destination. But considering some other properties under the brand’s umbrella, it could be seen as solid value—especially when eating at local restaurants for some of the stay. Either way, it’s a special place.
