Many of us optimistically stick our heads into the hotel gym on vacation, give it an approving nod and tell ourselves we’ll be in there the next morning. Many of us fail miserably. Hilton is trying to change that by throwing at least one peloton bike into every one of its hotels in the US, from Hampton Inn all the way to Waldorf Astoria.
The increasingly popular stationary bike system will be installed in over 5400 hotels in the near future, allowing guests who already have a bike at home to connect a second bike and continue their progress. Those without a peloton will be gifted a 90-day free trial of the app to use when staying in the hotel.
While it’s a nice addition for hotel guests, the real winner is Peloton. The company had a rough year financially after gyms began reopening post-Covid. The placement is effectively offering a free bike trial for millions of people a year. According to Peloton, more than 1.6 million rides have already been logged in hotels.
