Airbnb is continuing its anti-party crusade by unveiling new technology designed to weed out any potential rule-breakers and support hosts who do not want their property damaged.
The tech, which the company announced earlier this week, will automatically gauge the likelihood of a potential guest throwing a party in their rental by assessing them based on a number of metrics.
The algorithm will look at the number of positive reviews, age, the distance traveled to the property, the day of the week, and a number of other factors. If a customer is flagged as high risk, they will be unable to book a full property. They will still be able to rent out a private room, however.
The system was piloted in Australia but will now roll out tests across the United States and Canada. The development comes just months after the company officially banned parties indefinitely after a number of high-profile incidents, including several deaths.
