I throw a lot at you, so I thought it pertinent to do a brief roundup of some of my favorite cards and who should consider opening them. Bear with me on the lack of names. It’s annoying for me too.
The easy intro all-rounder
One of the best cards for dipping your toes into travel hacking. Easy to use flat rate of 2x points per dollar on everything, a huge 75,000 point bonus after spending $4,000 within three months, and all for only $95 a year. That bonus could cover ten domestic flights.
The must-have for Americans
Open this card, hit the $3,000 spending goal in three months, and keep those 75,000 points for a day you need them. It’s the kind of card I’d have in my back pocket for those sudden weddings, graduations, funerals, and the like.
Step up to the big leagues
With hefty fees come luxury perks. Free lounge access worldwide, major travel credits, 10,000 bonus points every year, and top-notch travel insurance all come with this card. Then there’s the 75,000-point intro bonus after spending $4,000 in the first three months. If you spend $300 in travel a year, the $395 annual fee is diluted to $95.
Low fee, big earner
t’s just $95 a year, but with 3x points per dollar on restaurants, 2x points per dollar on travel, and 5x points per dollar on travel purchases in its travel portal, it’s a great earner. Add in the valuable 60,000-point intro bonus, and you can fly yourself to Europe multiple times.
