Kevin Costner is the definition of what it means to be versatile. He’s been a cowboy, a secret service agent, a man who talks to ghosts, and now the founder of the travel app, Autio, which hosts thousands of location-based audio stories from coast to coast.
In 2020, the travel story library was created to accompany road trippers on their journeys in the midst of a pandemic. Now in partnership with JetBlue, Autio will offer passengers access to 250 stories across 29 American destinations. The stories will be available to stream through Avant seatback screens and available on half of JetBlue’s fleet.
How does Autio work?
Through collaboration with various partners, Autio narrates histories as people road-trip across the United States as told by compelling storytellers, including former basketball player Phil Jackson, actor John Lithgow, and Kevin Costner himself.
Featuring history, sports, music, culture, geology, and more, the Autio app creates an immersive 3-5 minute audio experience as travelers pass significant landmarks along their journey. Through the inflight app, JetBlue passengers can learn about the various destinations their flight is passing over.
Even if you’re not planning to fly JetBlue anytime soon, signing up with a free Autio account will allow you access to five stories a year. For $36 a year, you can gain access to over 10,000+ stories of America’s greatest landmarks on your next road trip.
