Thailand wants visitors to stay longer.

Starting in October, travelers visiting Thailand will be able to stay for six weeks — 45 days to be exact — without the need for a visa.

Currently, visitors from select countries are only eligible to stay for 30 days, so the new rule adds about an extra two weeks of time to explore the Southeast Asia gem.

The goal behind the extension is to bolster their tourism sector post-pandemic. The Thai government has an ambitious goal of attracting 10 million more travelers by the end of 2022.

If you’re planning a visit to Thailand, keep in mind that this new policy is only temporary. The extension begins on October first and ends on March 31st, 2023.
