From riverside escapes to eco-lodges, these are the most anticipated 2023 hotel openings

Maybe it was those outrageous Airbnb fees that reignited the building of hotels all around the world. Or perhaps it was the fact that so many hotels sat empty that it made it the perfect time to upgrade the accommodations. Either way, there are some eye-catching hotels coming soon in 2023. Here are a few of our top picks:

• The Homestead in South Africa has been long-awaited. It was originally supposed to open in 2023, but due to flooding in the region, they had to postpone. It is well worth the wait, though. This luxurious, private lodge only has 12 suites but you can experience everything from photography classes to stargazing on the eco-conscious property. 

• The Peninsula Hotel is like something out of a Wes Anderson film. Located right in the heart of Istanbul and overlooking the Bosphorus river, it’s breathtaking, to say the least. 

• Escaping to the Galapagos to see the islands’ untouched nature is high up on my list. The new Hotel Indigo makes it all the more enticing with unbelievable views and a spa onsite.

• Another hotel focused on eco-friendly design is the Six Senses Rome. This hotel will feature a gorgeous rooftop and a design focused on natural light and open spaces. The best part? It’s a stone’s throw from some of Rome’s most historic sites.
