What on earth is sleep tourism?

Goodnight stars; Goodnight air; Goodnight noises everywhere is the motto for 2023, and how could one not be onboard?

Whether you’re a pro-nap-taker or fall into the category of 1 in 3 Americans who struggle with a good night’s sleep, this growing trend is for you – Sleep Tourism. Globally, a trend of hotels and resorts focusing on sleep is growing as guests are seeking quiet, dark, and restful spaces to improve their quality of rest while on vacation or a demanding business trip.

Luxury hotels & resorts in New York, Los Angeles, Arizona, and Maui, to name a few, offer unique sleep-centric amenities for the modern traveler, and it’s only right to share them if you’re seeking nothing but R&R on your next vacation.

Where to catch up on sleep on your next trip

  • Park Hyatt New York offers new sleep suites in partnership with AI mattress startup Bryt that feature 90 intelligent cushions that detect, adjust, and relieve pressure points on the body. It also provides sleep statistics and insights you can access through your smartphone, and it can be customized to fit the unique needs of couples.

  • Hotel Figueroa in Los Angeles has suites equipped with Pluto Pillows and dual-zone mattresses that adjust to your body temperature. Guided meditation, red light therapy, and even sunrise-simulating lamps are also available to assist with a good night’s rest.

  • Castle Hot Springs in Arizona invites travelers looking for a rest and reset with a series of Sleep Retreats (The next happening from May 18-21, 2023). An immersive experience centered on transforming your sleep will be offered at each three-night Sleep Retreat and designed to help guests begin a healthy sleep routine.

  • Four Seasons Resort in Maui recently debuted a first-of-its-kind wellness offering with Next|Health, where visitors can access customized IV therapies, vitamin shots, and wellness tests. Newer treatments were introduced in 2023, including ozone therapy, stem cell therapy, and exosome therapy. The treatments range in price from $1,200 to $12,000.

Now, if you don’t mind, I’ll be booking one of these stays to snag some precious Zzzs.
