The hotel giant believes it matters where you stay.

Hilton has just released its new marketing campaign, hoping to inject some life into its post-pandemic figures, and has taken aim at accommodation competitor Airbnb in the process.

The broader campaign, named “It matters where you stay,” sets out to shift the focus of travel to the hotel itself instead of the destination. The tongue-in-cheek campaign aims to convince viewers that choosing the right hotel amidst the chaos currently engulfing the industry is more important than ever.

The accommodation giant released several short commercials centered around issues facing travelers this year, with one, in particular, mocking the perceived unreliability of rentals. Although not mentioning Airbnb directly, the commercial shows a family arriving at an app-purchased rental and becoming dismayed at the differences between the real property and what was listed online – in this case, the home is actually a haunted house, complete with absurd house rules scribbled in blood on the wall.

Another of the commercials even features Hilton Heiress Paris Hilton, using the socialite to bring to light the company’s new pets-allowed policy.
