In a surprising twist, Amazon has teamed up with Priceline, the travel booking website, for Prime Day. It seems even online travel agencies can’t resist the urge to join in on the shopping extravaganza, and I can’t blame them.
Amazon Prime members can enjoy an additional 20% off Priceline’s already amazing Hotel Express deals, which offer up to 60% off on hotels. By joining Prime Day, Priceline becomes the first travel brand in the mix, benefiting both travelers and hotels with great savings to fill up empty rooms.
Priceline’s Express Deals provide pre-discounted travel bookings, further enhanced by the exclusive Prime Day discount. The unique twist is that the hotel’s name remains a mystery until after the booking is confirmed. Before hitting the confirm button, it’s important to note that these bookings are non-refundable, which is a bit odd considering that Amazon is known for its liberal returns policy. The deals are hard to pass up, though.
