Intrepid Travel is launching two new women-only trips in honor of Women’s History Month, aimed at tackling travel inequality and providing unique, immersive experiences for adventurous women worldwide.

Intrepid Travel, a small-group adventure travel company, creates trips for wander lusters to explore local cultures and traditions, typically unavailable on regular group departures. By creating safe and empowering environments for female travelers in particular, Intrepid Travel hopes to promote diversity and inclusivity within the travel industry.

The company recently revealed the results of a survey conducted among 2,027 US adults aged 18 and older. 83% of women between 18 and 34 expressed a desire for the travel industry to offer more experiences specifically designed for women, as traveling solo can often be a daunting thought for many.

These results demonstrate how safe and empowering travel opportunities for women, especially for solo travelers, are crucial. Recognizing this, Intrepid Travel is adding two trips to its Women’s Expeditions initiative to break down barriers and stereotypes.

What are the two new trips offered?

Intrepid Travel has provided women-only trips to culturally-rich destinations since 2018, such as Morocco, India, Jordan, and Iran. To further expand its South Asian offerings, the company is now offering two new trip itineraries to Pakistan and Nepal.

The first departure for Pakistan is September 17 for 12 days, where travelers will experience authentic culture and tradition from local women. On the 13-day-long Nepal trip, a women-led crew of guides will take travelers to an all-female monastery, hike up the Annapurna mountain range, and learn how to make delicious Nepalese dishes.

How much do these trips cost?

The 12-day trip in Pakistan will start at $4,325, and the 13-day Nepal trip starts at $1,840. Other destinations that are a part of the Women’s Expedition initiative are already available for booking on Intrepid Travel’s website.
