Just what we need, another chaotic travel season.

We reported several weeks ago that multiple American airlines could strike in the coming months. And while we’ve been told that any action on their part wouldn’t affect Christmas travel, several other airlines around the world have stepped up to remind us that we’re not exactly in the clear yet.

European airlines EasyJet, AirFrance, and Ryanair, have all suggested that strike action is possible over the Christmas holiday period.

EasyJet and AirFrance

Multiple unions representing cabin crew members with EasyJet and Airfrance have suggested that ongoing negotiations concerning collective cabin crew workplace agreements are risking Christmas flights.

AirFrance issued a strike notice for December 22nd to January 2nd. EasyJet echoed the sentiment without giving more specific dates beyond the December holiday period.

Budget airline Ryanair hasn’t announced any formal strike action period, but representatives from the cabin crew’s unions have suggested that “staff will express their anger” concerning salaries over the same Christmas period.

If you’ve got any European travel booked for the Christmas holidays, keep tabs on which airline you’re using. It’s an excellent time to rebook to ensure you’re not up against any mass cancellations.
