From Bali to LA, our DFC team works (and plays) remotely all over the world. Our offices span hotel rooms to vans, so we’ve field-tested our fair share of tech while traveling.

Our requirements? Compact, easy-to-pack, and top-tier quality. Here is the travel gear we rely on while we’re traveling the world.

Best wireless headphones: Apple AirPods Pro (2nd Gen)

While older generations of the AirPods will do just fine, the 2nd Gen Apple AirPods Pro headphones are worth the extra investment for our remote work team. The 30 hours of listening time plus boosted noise-canceling features make it stand head and shoulders above other small wireless headphones.

Best on-ear headphones: Bose QuietComfort 45 Headphones

Our editor, Zach, swears by these noise-canceling Bose QuietComfort 45 Bluetooth Headphones for working remotely. Whether you’re in a coffee shop or just want extra comfort at home, these headphones are foolproof.

Best portable speaker: JBL Clip 4

The JBL Clip 4 is small but mighty and has waterproof features so you can as easily bring it along for a beach day as you can for an international vacation.

Best underwater camera:

GoPro has long been the standard camera for thrill seekers and there’s a good reason for it. Their GoPro HERO11 is an Emmy Award-winning camera and is especially great for travelers who like to record their underwater diving expeditions.

Best Bluetooth keyboard and trackpad for Apple users: Apple Magic Keyboard

Most of us at DFC are Apple users. For our on-the-go setups, we like the lightweight and easy-to-pack Apple Magic Keyboard and the Magic Trackpad. We also recommend getting a tech case to protect the keyboard keys and make traveling easier.

Best Bluetooth keyboard for non-Apple users:

If you’re a PC user, the Logitech K780 seems to be the standard for most travelers. With rave reviews and a slim design, it’s a no-brainer.

Best portable charger: Anker Portable Charger

For a compact portable charger that works on a variety of devices, stick to the Anker Portable Charger. It’s powerful and can you up to 5.42 chargers on an iPhone X and 4.82 on a Samsung phone.

Best clip-on phone charger for Apple users: Anker 622 Magnetic Battery

While quite a few of us use Apple’s MagSafe Battery Pack, we have to admit that the Anker 622 Magnetic Battery is a bit more bang for your buck. It’s a bit cheaper, has more battery capacity, and even comes with a stand so you can prop your phone up while charging.

Best universal adapter: EPICKA Universal Adapter

The worldwide adapter by EPICKA works in 150 countries and has 4 USB ports along with the traditional wall plug, so you’ll have plenty of slots for your electronics, no matter where in the world you are.

Best adapter for Apple users: Apple World Travel Adapter Kit

DFC team member Libby has convinced me not to travel with a bulky all-in-one universal adapter. Instead, this Apple World Travel Adapter Kit lets you change out only the port depending on where you’re traveling, saving you both space and weight in your bag.

Best E-Book: Kindle Paper White

Kindle has long been the standard for the best e-book but the Kindle Paper White is a game-changer for its adjustable warm light so you don’t strain your eyes. It’s also waterproof for any of you who like to read by the beach.

Best dual screen: iPad

Though it seems like it would be impossible to have dual monitors while traveling, an easy fix is using an iPad pro as your second screen

Best laptop stand: Roost Folding Laptop Stand

Goodbye neck pain! The Roost laptop stand folds up so compactly that you might even forget it’s in your bag. It can fit any PC or Apple laptop and can adjust to 7 heights so that you don’t have to strain your eyes or neck while working remotely.

Best ring light: UBeesize Selfie Ring Light

For any of you social media managers or aspiring TikTokers that have to record videos on the go, get the UBeesize selfie ring light and cellphone holder in one.
