It’s beginning to feel a lot like ski season because the Amtrak Winter Park Express ski train is officially back, offering 64-mile trips every weekend from Denver to Winter Park Resort starting at just $34 one-way.
Starting January 13 through March 26, 2023, the Winter Express train will run every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, departing Denver Union Station at 7 am and arriving at Winter Park at 9 am. Trains leave Winter Park Resort at 4:30 pm and arrive in Denver at 6:40 pm for a full day of snow activities.
How can I book?
Bookings for the Winter Express ride are available for purchase online through Amtrak or via the Amtrak app. Group reservations of 9 to 14 people can be made by calling 1-800-872-7245. For bookings of 15 or more, an online form must be completed.
Adult one-way fares start at $34, while tickets for children aged 2-12 start at $17. Fares are subject to availability.
Only coach or Saver fares with level seating are available to book on this train, and fares are non-refundable. Amtrak Guests Rewards points cannot be used to book this route.
Will I be charged to carry gear onboard?
There is no additional charge for travelers to bring their skis or snowboards, as carry-ons and trains offer dedicated baggage storage for gear during boarding. A wide, reclining seat, a big picture window, ample legroom, and no middle seat are all yours onboard.
See you on the slopes!
