American Airlines is trying to make a long-distance relationship work with Europe by extending five routes past September. The hubs in Dallas, Charlotte, and Philadelphia are really committed to making this work and keeping the romance alive – talk about dedication!
Which routes will continue?
American Airlines has extended flights on five European routes through winter due to steady demand for travel to Europe. The extension includes routes from Charlotte to Madrid, Philadelphia to Barcelona and Lisbon, and Dallas to Dublin and Rome, with more than 300 additional flights in November and December.
There are two gaps in the Philadelphia to Barcelona flight schedule between September 2023 and March 2024. Flights will run daily until October 4, then pause until October 29. After daily flights resume through January 7, there will be another pause until February 15, likely due to delayed aircraft deliveries.
The airline also recently announced that it will resume daily flights between Los Angeles and Auckland from December 21 to February 14, 2024, and 3x weekly until March 2. Flights from Dallas to Auckland will also resume on October 28 and run through March 2024. American Airlines isn’t ready to break up with Europe or the South Pacific just yet, and we’re not mad at it!
