Tennis fans with an eye on finding 2024 US Open tickets this year, rejoice! Your Amex card lets you beat the crowds and grab the tickets you want.

Don’t have an Amex card? Here’s the one I suggest.

It was the first travel card I ever opened, the first bonus that sent me flying around the world for pennies, and the first perk-laden product to have me shimmying into lounges in every corner of the globe. I was hooked on points and miles after opening the card.

🤩 What’s the deal?

Tickets for the renowned tennis tournament officially go on sale June 3, but American Express cardholders can opt to grab theirs a few days earlier between May 28 at 9 AM and June 1 at 11:59 PM.  Cardholders can purchase a maximum of sixteen tickets per day–eight for the morning session and eight for the evening rounds.

It’s a big deal for fans, as navigating the rabble of tennis fans can be a frustrating experience. Narrowing down the pool makes those center-court dreams a little more realistic.

🎾 Any other perks?

Details haven’t been announced, but Amex cardholders will also get access to the on-site Amex lounges, with the Centurion lounge only open to holders of the card I mentioned earlier and Amex’s ultra-exclusive card. They’ll also enjoy free bag check, an in-ear radio, and access to the Amex shop.

It’s an ace deal. (Pun intended).

  Cons

  • The $695 annual fee is brutally high. Too high for many that can’t, or don’t want to take full advantage of its benefits.

  • Points-earning rates are low unless spending directly on flights or with the Amex Portal.

  • Some of the benefits, like travel credits, are more limited and are harder to use than competing cards’ offerings.
