Whether you are planning to travel for the new year or just looking for cheap vacation spots, Kayak, one of the leading travel search engines, has shared the cheapest places to visit this year, and we couldn’t resist spreading the word. 

Kayak considered flights for travel in 2023 between July 2022 and November 2022 in order to determine the most budget-friendly destinations for you and your wallet. A total of 100 of the most clicked destinations with the lowest average price for flights and hotels were then analyzed, excluding outliers due to security concerns and travel restrictions. All prices are based on averages.

Cheapest destinations in 2023 and travel costs

• Toronto, Canada at $577 on average for a flight and hotel

• Mexico City is the second-cheapest destination on the list at $696 for a flight and hotel

• New York City isn’t necessarily cheap, but a flight and hotel can be had for about $625

• Cartagena, Colombia at $792 for both a flight and hotel

• Chicago, Illinois with a $624 average for a flight and hotel
