Warning: this story is not for the superstitious.
The number 13 has long had a sinister connotation and scared off even some of the most stoic people. Hotels often skip the 13th floor and some airlines even leave out the 13th row.
The good news is that if you don’t believe in Friday the 13th superstition, you can save lots of money on travel. A new study from Kayak just revealed that flying on Friday the 13th can save travelers up to 39% on trips to Europe and 19% on trips within the UK.
Unfortunately, it’s a little too late to take advantage of the savings today but mark your calendar for the next Friday the 13th of this year, which is in October. We recommend booking about 44 days out for domestic travel and 129 days for any international escapades.
I don’t know about you but I’d be willing to risk having 7 years of bad luck or a curse on my family line for a cheap flight but maybe I’ll eat my words. Luckily, studies also show that there isn’t more likelihood of bad luck in the air on the ominous date either.
