Delta Air Lines is expanding its routes south of its Atlanta hub with its largest-ever winter holiday travel schedule. With added flights from Atlanta, New York’s JFK, Detroit, and Minneapolis, this brings Delta’s presence in Latin America to a total of 44 destinations.
The airline will operate the routes seasonally between December 16 and January 7, 2024, with 20% more seats, compared to the previous year’s holiday season. The year’s new schedule will offer expanded service across Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean, all suitable places for a tropical winter escape.
What routes are included?
Frequency boosts are being implemented on nine routes from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), six routes from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), and one route from Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW).
Delta will add daily frequencies from their Atlanta hub to Aruba; Liberia and San Jose in Costa Rica; Montego Bay, Jamaica; San Juan, Puerto Rico; Canun, Mexico City and Puerto Vallarta in Mexico; and Roatan, Honduras.
In addition to the limited-time expansion, Delta will resume service to Cozumel, Mexico, a market it dropped during the pandemic. These latest additions to the courier’s routes, align with their strategy to strengthen positioning at key hubs as they restore their network to pre-pandemic levels.
