Alaska Airlines has some new arm candy, recently partnering with luxury Taiwanese airline, Starlux. Having already formed partnerships with US sports teams like the LA Dodgers and LA Clippers, Alaska Airlines will be its first airline partner, making exciting new waves!
What does this mean for Mileage Plan members?
Travelers can earn miles on all Starlux flights as a Mileage Plan member and will soon be able to redeem them too. This summer, Starlux flights between Los Angeles and Taipei will have redemptions starting at just 20,000 miles in economy, 40,000 in premium economy, and 60,000 in business class (for a limited time).
Starlux opened a new gateway for international travel from Southern California through its Taipei hub, where travelers can connect to 16 Asian destinations, including Bangkok, Hanoi, Penang, Manila, Singapore, Macau, and Sapporo. Alaska’s Los Angeles (LAX) hub now offers easy access to Starlux flights for guests, with plans to add New York service soon.
